Core-MIDI-Out

This is a Tonaly Pro feature only

With Tonaly Pro you can open the MIDI Output to send MIDI signals to other apps. In this way, you can use the sounds of your DAW and record MIDI. By using shortcuts 1-7 you can use Tonaly as an instrument.

👉 To do so, navigate to "MIDI" in the menu bar and click on "Open MIDI setup..." or use the key command ⌥ ⌘ ⇧ ,

👉 Then, click on "Open MIDI Output"

⚙️ Settings

  • Humanize Velocity

    • Randomizes velocity to create a more natural sound

  • Mute sounds within "Tonaly"

    • Mutes the playback instrument within Tonaly as you probably use the Sound selected in your DAW

  • MIDI Channel

    • Select a specific channel. Default is "0" -> All channels

About Ableton Live

Problem: MIDI-Out does not work with Ableton Live

Quick fix: Restart your Mac

More about this: At the moment there might occur an issue with Ableton Live. MIDI signals are received by Ableton but do not reach the channel. The MIDI indicator receives signals:

But the channel is not.

I'm investigating this – at the moment I'm not sure if there is an issue with Ableton or if it is on my side. Sorry for the inconvenience – I hope to fix it soon!
